So, pretty much as the title suggets, does your eczema get worse in the winter?

The reason I ask is because i’ve just had a terrible winter with my skin but now the weather is picking up it seems to be improving.

Yes it does. I had eczema when I was younger and in my teens, and every winter and fall the eczema got worse. And that was simply because as the weather gets colder you wear more and warmer clothes which makes your body warmer, and your skin doesn’t get as much sun or fresh air, and all of that adds up and causes your eczema to get worse. At least it did for me.

The heating in the house doesn’t help you. It either drys out your skin or makes you sweat, eczema’s worst enemy. It’s definitely more challenging for me in the winter too!
